Blackwell Maroons (Blackwell, OK) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Wichita HomeSchool Warriors (Wichita, KS), 50-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Blackwell upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Maroons travel to Newkirk (Newkirk, OK) to play the Tigers in a 89er - West bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 1-10. Newkirk lost 65-36 in their recent non-league bout against Yale (Yale, OK)

Next up, the Warriors play the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes (Bel Aire, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Wichita HomeSchool will attempt to upgrade on its 9-5 season record. The Buffaloes come into the bout with a 1-9 record after their 65-51 non-league loss to Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, VA).
