Brooks Lions (Killen, AL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Sparkman Senators (Harvest, AL), 73-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Brooks upgrades its record to 13-4 on the season. The Lions host Wilson (Florence, AL) to clash with the Warriors in a 4A Area 16 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 7-14. Wilson lost 62-44 in their recent league bout against Central (Florence, AL)

Next up, the Senators clash with the Oakwood Academy Mustangs (Huntsville, AL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 8. Sparkman will attempt to upgrade on its 5-15 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 9-10 record after their 67-65 non-league win over Tanner (Tanner, AL).
