Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Jefferson Dragons (Jefferson, GA) and the host Dawson County Tigers (Dawsonville, GA), saw Jefferson's basketball squad hold off Dawson County by a count of 68-67.

With the victory, Jefferson upgrades its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Dragons host Heritage (Conyers, GA) to play the Patriots in a AAAAA Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 5-11. Heritage lost 67-66 in their recent league challenge against Clarke Central (Athens, GA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Lumpkin County Indians (Dahlonega, GA) in a AAA Region 7 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Dawson County will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 50-48 non-league win over Fannin County (Blue Ridge, GA).
