The Passaic Valley Hornets basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting Garfield Boilermakers to 42 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Hornets now sport a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wayne Hills for a Big North - Independence contest on Tuesday, January 9. Passaic Valley will meet a Patriots team coming off a 59-44 non-league loss to Allentown Central Catholic (Allentown, PA). The Patriots record now stands at 7-3.

The Boilermakers (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Manchester Regional (Haledon, NJ). The Falcons enter the Bergen/Passaic - King contest with a 3-5 record. In their last contest, Manchester Regional ran past Elmwood Park (Elmwood Park, NJ), 45-34, in a league contest.
