Grenada Chargers (Grenada, MS) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Southaven Chargers (Southaven, MS), 79-68 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Grenada upgrades its record to 6-10 on the season. The Chargers travel to Coahoma County (Clarksdale, MS) to play the Red Panthers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Red Panthers go into the bout with a record of 15-5. Coahoma County lost 54-53 in their recent league bout against North Panola (Sardis, MS)

Next up, the Chargers play the Lewisburg Patriots (Olive Branch, MS) in a 7A Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Southaven will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 11-5 record after their 64-61 non-league loss to Rosa Fort (Tunica, MS).
