The Poteau Pirates tipped the visiting Haskell Haymakers basketball team by a final score of 55-49 in Saturday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Pirates face the Sallisaw Black Diamonds (Sallisaw, OK) in a NOAA game, on Tuesday, January 9. Poteau will attempt to move on its 5-6 season record.

With the defeat, Haskell moves to 4-6 on the year. The Haymakers host Summit Christian Academy (Broken Arrow, OK) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 12. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 6-4.
