Georgia High School Basketball - Islands edges Metter

January 6, 2024: Metter, GA 30439

The Islands Sharks (Savannah, GA) basketball nipped the host Metter Tigers (Metter, GA), 49-44 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Sharks (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Southeast Bulloch (Brooklet, GA). The Yellow Jackets go into the AAAA Region 3 test with a 7-6 record. In their last test, Southeast Bulloch got by Bryan County (Pembroke, GA), 64-38, in a non-league test.

The Tigers now own a 5-6 record. They play next when they host Savannah for a A D1 Region 3 test on Tuesday, January 9. Metter will encounter a Bluejackets squad coming off a 62-43 non-league loss to Paxon School For Advanced Studies (Jacksonville, FL). The Bluejackets record now stands at 10-5.
