Kiona-Benton Bears (Benton City, WA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Toppenish Wildcats (Toppenish, WA), 66-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Kiona-Benton upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Bears travel to Wahluke (Mattawa, WA) to clash with the Warriors in a 1A South Central - East bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 11-1. Wahluke won 60-35 in their recent non-league bout against Naches Valley (Naches, WA)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the La Salle Lightning (Union Gap, WA) in a 1A South Central - West bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Toppenish will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Lightning go into the bout with a 5-7 record after their 89-69 non-league loss to Royal (Royal City, WA).
