Lewis Academy Watchmen (Newberg, OR) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host McKenzie Eagles (Finn Rock, OR), 47-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lewis Academy upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Watchmen host Willamette Valley Christian (Brooks, OR) to play the Warriors in a 1A Casco bout on Monday, January 8. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 9-5. Willamette Valley Christian won 63-58 in their recent league bout against Falls City/Kings Valley Charter (Falls City, OR)

Next up, the Eagles play the Eddyville Eagles (Eddyville, OR) in a 1A Mountain West bout, on Tuesday, January 9. McKenzie will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 36-21 league loss to Mapleton (Mapleton, OR).
