The Van Wert Cougars basketball team scored 63 points and held the visiting Lincolnview Lancers to 48 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cougars now sport a 3-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wapakoneta for a Western Buckeye contest on Friday, January 12. Van Wert will meet a Redskins team coming off a 53-50 league loss to Memorial (St. Marys, OH). The Redskins record now stands at 5-5.

The Lancers (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Spencerville (Spencerville, OH). The Bearcats enter the Northwest contest with a 6-3 record. In their last contest, Spencerville ran past Kalida (Kalida, OH), 51-28, in a non-league contest.
