Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars (Zumbrota, MN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Litchfield Dragons (Litchfield, MN), 80-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Zumbrota-Mazeppa upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Cougars host Lake City (Lake City, MN) to clash with the Tigers in a AA Section 1 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 7-3. Lake City won 79-54 in their recent league bout against Caledonia (Caledonia, MN)

Next up, the Dragons clash with the Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles (Eden Valley, MN) in a AA Section 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Litchfield will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 8-1 record after their 58-35 non-league win over Royalton (Royalton, MN).
