In Saturday's non-league outing, the Sigourney Savages (Sigourney, IA) basketball squad beat the host Pekin Panthers (Packwood, IA), by a margin of 53-45.
The Savages (6-5) will now prepare for their outing against Colfax-Mingo (Colfax, IA). The Tigerhawks go into the South Iowa Cedar outing with a 4-8 record. In their last outing, Colfax-Mingo was topped by Keota (Keota, IA), 70-44, in a league outing.
The Panthers now own a 5-6 record. They play next when they travel to Wapello for a SEI - North outing on Tuesday, January 9.
