The Westlake Lions basketball team (Atlanta, GA), was overwhelmed 93-63 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Sandy Creek Patriots (Tyrone, GA)
The Patriots now possess a 11-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Douglass for a AAA Region 5 battle on Tuesday, January 9. Sandy Creek will confront a Astros team coming off a 67-48 non-league loss to Pope John Paul II (Hendersonville, TN). The Astros record now stands at 11-7.
The Lions (7-6) will now prepare for their battle against Carrollton (Carrollton, GA). The Trojans come into the AAAAAAA Region 2 battle with a 10-3 record. In their last battle, Carrollton trounced New Manchester (Douglasville, GA), 62-53, in a non-league battle.
