The Taylorsville Tartars basketball team (Taylorsville, MS), was routed 71-28 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS)

The War Eagles now sport a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Laurel for a 5A Region 4 battle on Tuesday, January 9.

The Tartars (5-13) will now prepare for their battle against Piney Woods (Piney Woods, MS). The Tornadoes come into the 1A Region 7 battle with a 5-3 record. In their last battle, Piney Woods was routed by Mount Olive (Mount Olive, MS), 47-44, in a league battle.
