In Saturday's non-league outing, the Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Southeast Lauderdale Tigers (Meridian, MS), by a margin of 48-18.

The Wildcats (10-6) will now prepare for their outing against Petal (Petal, MS). The Panthers go into the 7A Region 3 outing with a 7-10 record. In their last outing, Petal was trounced by Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS), 46-42, in a league outing.

The Tigers now own a 6-10 record. They play next when they host Kemper County for a 3A Region 5 outing on Tuesday, January 9. Southeast Lauderdale will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 39-35 non-league loss to Lanier (Jackson, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-6.
