Porter-Gaud Cyclones (Charleston, SC) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Woodland Wolverines (Dorchester, SC), 49-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Porter-Gaud upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Cyclones travel to Pinewood Prep (Summerville, SC) to clash with the Panthers in a SCISA AAAA Region III bout on Friday, January 12. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 1-11. Pinewood Prep lost 65-30 in their recent league bout against First Baptist School (Charleston, SC)

Next up, the Wolverines clash with the Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars (Ridgeland, SC) in a AA Region 6 bout, on Friday, January 12. Woodland will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Jaguars go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 56-46 non-league win over Colleton County (Walterboro, SC).
