In Saturday's non-league outing, the Santiago Sharks (Corona, CA) basketball squad nipped the host St. Anthony Saints (Long Beach, CA), by a margin of 60-53.
The Sharks (11-8) will now prepare for their outing against Centennial (Corona, CA). The Huskies go into the Big VIII outing with a 9-9 record. In their last outing, Centennial got by Grossmont (El Cajon, CA), 73-56, in a non-league outing.
The Saints now own a 12-5 record. They play next when they travel to St. Mary's Academy for a Del Rey outing on Tuesday, January 9. St. Anthony will encounter a Belles squad coming off a 62-50 non-league win over Rolling Hills Prep (San Pedro, CA). The Belles record now stands at 11-6.
