Schaumburg Saxons (Schaumburg, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Thornton Fractional North Meteors (Calumet City, IL), 74-31 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Schaumburg upgrades its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Saxons host Conant (Hoffman Estates, IL) to play the Cougars in a Mid-Suburban - West bout on Monday, January 8. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 6-11. Conant lost 34-28 in their recent non-league bout against Resurrection (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Meteors play the Blue Island Eisenhower Cardinals (Blue Island, IL) in a South Suburban - Red bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Thornton Fractional North will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 0-9 record after their 52-40 non-league loss to Christ the King (Chicago, IL).
