Next, the Panthers confront the Economedes Jaguars (Edinburg, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Weslaco will attempt to better on its 8-1 season record. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 1-1 non-league Hanna (Brownsville, TX).

The Cowboys now have a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Weslaco East for a 5A Region 4 District 32 challenge on Friday, January 12. Porter will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-0.
