The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Bagdad Sultans (Bagdad, AZ) and the visiting Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Roadrunners (Phoenix, AZ), observed Bagdad's basketball team overwhelm Phoenix Day School for the Deaf by a score of 68-23.

The Sultans (11-3) will now prepare for their challenge against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy (Phoenix, AZ). The Gladiators come into the 1A West challenge with a 1-6 record. In their last challenge, North Phoenix Preparatory Academy was routed by Salome (Salome, AZ), 52-38, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Roadrunners encounter the Sequoia Pathway Academy Pumas (Maricopa, AZ) in a 1A West challenge, on Thursday, January 9. Phoenix Day School for the Deaf will attempt to improve on its 2-7 season record. The Pumas come into the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 89-21 non-league loss to Gilbert Classical Academy (Gilbert, AZ).
