In Monday's non-league test, the Elkton/Lake Benton Elks (Elkton, SD) basketball squad defeated the host Tri-Valley Mustangs (Colton, SD), by a score of 69-53.
Next, the Elks clash with the Florence/Henry Falcons (Florence, SD) in a A Region 2 test, on Friday, January 10. Elkton/Lake Benton will attempt to improve on its 4-1 season record. The Falcons come into the test with a 3-2 record after their 66-50 non-league win over Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] (Rosholt, SD).
The Mustangs (2-4) will now prepare for their test against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton (Mt. Vernon, SD). The Titans come into the non-league test with a 1-4 record. In their last test, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton went down by Corsica/Stickney (Corsica, SD), 60-48, in a non-league test.
