In Monday's non-league contest, the host Ishpeming Hematites basketball team scored a big 95-32 triumph over the Hancock Bulldogs.

The Hematites (5-4) will now prepare for their contest against Negaunee (Negaunee, MI). The Miners go into the Mid-Peninsula contest with a 6-3 record.

In their next game, the Bulldogs confront the L'Anse Purple Hornets (L'Anse, MI) in a Western Peninsula contest, on Thursday, January 9. Hancock will attempt to better on its 0-8 season record. The Purple Hornets go into the contest with a 5-2 record after their 74-46 league loss to Houghton (Houghton, MI).
