The Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Lawrence Free State Firebirds to 19 in the Trailblazers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Trailblazers now sport a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Shawnee Mission East for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 11. Gardner-Edgerton will battle a Lancers team coming off a 53-31 non-league loss to Olathe South (Olathe, KS). The Lancers record now stands at 0-3.

The Firebirds (0-5) will now prepare for their contest against Olathe North (Olathe, KS). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 6-0 record. In their last contest, Olathe North triumphed over Olathe South (Olathe, KS), 46-31, in a league contest.
