Apollo Eagles (Owensboro, KY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Garrard County Golden Lions (Lancaster, KY), 67-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Apollo upgrades its record to 2-11 on the campaign. The Eagles host Hopkins County Central (Madisonville, KY) to play the Storm in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Storm come into the bout with a record of 4-5. Hopkins County Central lost 67-42 in their recent non-league bout against Marshall County (Benton, KY)

Next up, the Golden Lions play the Lincoln County Patriots (Stanford, KY) in a District 45 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Garrard County will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 45-36 non-league win over McCreary Central (Stearns, KY).
