Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Nixyaawii Community Eagles (Pendleton, OR) and the host Burns Hilanders (Burns, OR), saw Nixyaawii Community's basketball squad knock off Burns by a tally of 60-48.

With the victory, Nixyaawii Community improves its record to 11-1 on the campaign. The Eagles host Echo (Echo, OR) to play the Cougars in a 1A Old Oregon challenge on Friday, January 13. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 4-7.

Next up, the Hilanders play the Vale Vikings (Vale, OR) in a 3A Eastern Oregon challenge, on Thursday, January 12. Burns will attempt to improve on its 10-3 season record.
