Illinois High School Basketball - Meridian nips Cahokia

January 7, 2023: Mounds, IL 62964

Meridian Bobcats (Mounds, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Cahokia Comanches (Cahokia, IL), 83-78 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Meridian upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Bobcats host Waltonville (Waltonville, IL) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 4-6. Waltonville lost 64-49 in their recent league bout against Wayne City (Wayne City, IL)

Next up, the Comanches play the Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL) in a South Seven bout, on Friday, January 13. Cahokia will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Terriers go into the bout with a 6-10 record after their 51-38 league loss to Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL).
