The Cannon Cougars basketball team (Concord, NC), was nudged 70-69 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Pebblebrook Falcons (Mableton, GA)
The Falcons now possess a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Coweta for a AAAAAAA Region 2 battle on Tuesday, January 10. Pebblebrook will confront a Indians team coming off a 53-46 non-league win over Newnan (Newnan, GA). The Indians record now stands at 7-7.
The Cougars (18-5) will now prepare for their battle against Covenant Day (Matthews, NC). The Lions come into the NCISAA Charlotte Independent battle with a 10-8 record. In their last battle, Covenant Day edged Oak Hills (Cincinnati, OH), 50-36, in a non-league battle.
