Thornton Wildcats (Harvey, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Chicago University Maroons (Chicago, IL), 61-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Thornton upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Thornwood (South Holland, IL) to clash with the Thunderbirds in a Southland bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a record of 9-9. Thornwood lost 67-54 in their recent non-league bout against Proviso East (Maywood, IL)

Next up, the Maroons clash with the Northridge Knights (Niles, IL) in a Independent School bout, on Wednesday, January 11. Chicago University will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 68-55 league win over Francis W. Parker (Chicago, IL).
