Downingtown West Whippets (Downingtown, PA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Octorara Area Braves (Atglen, PA), 71-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Downingtown West upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Whippets host East (West Chester, PA) to play the Vikings in a Ches-Mont - National bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 10-2. East won 61-51 in their recent non-league bout against Bayard Rustin (West Chester, PA)

Next up, the Braves play the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers (Lampeter, PA) in a Lancaster-Lebanon 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Octorara Area will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Pioneers go into the bout with a 9-2 record after their 66-61 non-league win over Red Lion (Red Lion, PA).
