The Seton Hall Prep Pirates (West Orange, NJ) basketball nipped the host Hudson Catholic Hawks (Jersey City, NJ), 55-53 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Pirates (8-1) will now prepare for their test against East Side (Newark, NJ). The Red Raiders go into the Super Essex - American test with a 8-3 record. In their last test, East Side was tipped by Columbia (Maplewood, NJ), 58-57, in a league test.

The Hawks now own a 4-4 record. They play next when they travel to Immaculate Conception for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 11.
