In Saturday's non-league outing, the Pulaski County Cougars (Dublin, VA) basketball squad beat the visiting James River Knights (Buchanan, VA), by a count of 61-49.
The Cougars (3-8) will now prepare for their outing against Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA). The Knights go into the River Ridge outing with a 10-2 record. In their last outing, Cave Spring defeated Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA), 55-45, in a non-league outing.
The Knights now hold a 9-4 record. They play next when they host Carroll County for a Three Rivers outing on Tuesday, January 10. James River will clash with a Cavaliers squad coming off a 57-54 league win over Alleghany (Covington, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 9-2.
