Peoria Notre Dame Irish (Peoria, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Kankakee Kays (Kankakee, IL), 51-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Peoria Notre Dame upgrades its record to 6-10 on the campaign. The Irish travel to Bloomington (Bloomington, IL) to play the Purple Raiders in a Big Twelve bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Purple Raiders come into the bout with a record of 3-11. Bloomington lost 70-49 in their recent non-league bout against Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL)

Next up, the Kays play the Crete-Monee Warriors (Crete, IL) in a Southland bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Kankakee will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 3-10 record after their 53-49 non-league win over Providence Catholic (New Lenox, IL).
