Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Northwestern Huskies (West Salem, OH) and the visiting Mapleton Mounties (Ashland, OH), saw Northwestern's basketball squad wallop Mapleton by a tally of 81-47.

With the victory, Northwestern improves its record to 2-9 on the campaign. The Huskies host Norwayne (Creston, OH) to play the Bobcats in a Wayne County challenge on Friday, January 20. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 8-1.

Next up, the Mounties play the South Central Trojans (Greenwich, OH) in a Firelands challenge, on Thursday, January 12. Mapleton will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 52-44 non-league win over Mansfield Christian (Mansfield, OH).
