Margaretta Polar Bears (Castalia, OH) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Monroeville Eagles (Monroeville, OH), 48-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Margaretta upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Polar Bears host Willard (Willard, OH) to clash with the Crimson Flashes in a Sandusky Bay - Bay bout on Friday, January 13. The Crimson Flashes go into the bout with a record of 6-7. Willard won 85-71 in their recent non-league bout against Clyde (Clyde, OH)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Mapleton Mounties (Ashland, OH) in a Firelands bout, on Saturday, January 14. Monroeville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record.
