Illinois High School Basketball - Thornwood knocked off by Proviso East

The Proviso East Pirates basketball team scored 67 points and held the visiting Thornwood Thunderbirds to 54 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Pirates now sport a 12-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Addison Trail for a West Suburban - Gold contest on Tuesday, January 10. Proviso East will battle a Blazers team coming off a 39-34 non-league loss to Centennial (Champaign, IL). The Blazers record now stands at 5-14.

The Thunderbirds (9-9) will now prepare for their contest against Thornton (Harvey, IL). The Wildcats enter the Southland contest with a 7-5 record. In their last contest, Thornton ran past Chicago University (Chicago, IL), 61-39, in a non-league contest.
