The Coyotes enter the game with a 5-6 record after their 66-58 non-league win over Capitan (Capitan, NM).

With the defeat, Thoreau moves to 5-7 on the year. The Hawks host Newcomb (Newcomb, NM) to face the Skyhawks in a 3A District 1 game on Tuesday, January 10. The Skyhawks enter the game with a record of 8-6. Newcomb won 68-49 in their recent non-league game against Navajo Pine (Navajo, NM)
