Mount Miguel Matadors (Spring Valley, CA) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Valhalla Norsemen (El Cajon, CA), 32-26 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mount Miguel upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Matadors travel to Grossmont (El Cajon, CA) to clash with the Foothillers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Foothillers go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Grossmont won 31-28 in their recent non-league bout against Morse (San Diego, CA)

Next up, the Norsemen clash with the El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Valhalla will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Vaqueros go into the bout with a 9-2 record after their 38-13 league win over Monte Vista (Spring Valley, CA).
