In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting South Spartans basketball team scored a good 67-54 triumph over the Garces Memorial Rams.

The Spartans (8-8) will now prepare for their battle against West (Bakersfield, CA). The Vikings enter the South Yosemite - Mountain battle with a 1-14 record. In their last battle, West was outscored by Monache (Porterville, CA), 94-34, in a non-league battle.

The Rams now own a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Centennial for a South Yosemite - River battle on Thursday, January 9. Garces Memorial will meet a Golden Hawks squad coming off a 73-66 non-league loss to Sanger (Sanger, CA). The Golden Hawks record now stands at 11-5.
