California High School Basketball - Leland nips Gilroy

The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Leland Chargers (San Jose, CA) and the host Gilroy Mustangs (Gilroy, CA), observed Leland's basketball team edge Gilroy by a score of 50-45.

The Chargers (8-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Evergreen Valley (San Jose, CA). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 9-3 record. In their last challenge, Evergreen Valley edged Piedmont Hills (San Jose, CA), 68-58, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Live Oak Acorns (Morgan Hill, CA) in a Blossom Valley - Santa Teresa East challenge, on Wednesday, January 15. Gilroy will attempt to improve on its 3-10 season record. The Acorns come into the challenge with a 6-8 record after their 69-39 non-league win over San Lorenzo Valley (Felton, CA).
