Mt. Pleasant Oilers (Mt. Pleasant, MI) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Powers Catholic Chargers (Flint, MI), 70-68 in a league match.

With the victory, Mt. Pleasant advances its record to 5-2 on the year. The Oilers travel to Garber (Essexville, MI) to meet the Dukes in a non-league match on Thursday, January 9. The Dukes enter the match with a record of 4-5. Garber lost 61-14 in their recent league match against Frankenmuth (Frankenmuth, MI)

The Chargers now own a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Dow for a Saginaw Valley match on Friday, January 10. Powers Catholic will meet a Chargers squad coming off a 64-17 league win over Lapeer (Lapeer, MI). The Chargers record now stands at 4-4.
