The Westminster Academy Defenders basketball team scored 60 points and limited the host St. George's Gryphons to 27 in the Defenders non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Defenders now possess a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Tipton-Rosemark Academy for a non-league game on Saturday, January 11. Westminster Academy will confront a Rebels team coming off a 59-14 league loss to Trinity Christian Academy (Jackson, TN). The Rebels record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, St. George's falls to 2-12 on the campaign. The Gryphons host Evangelical Christian (Cordova, TN) to confront the Eagles in a Division II-A West District 6 game on Friday, January 10. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 14-1. Evangelical Christian won 47-15 in their recent non-league game against Power Center Academy (Memphis, TN)
