Valley Vikings (Las Vegas, NV) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Cheyenne Desert Shields (North Las Vegas, NV), 40-28 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Valley upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Vikings host Shadow Ridge (Las Vegas, NV) to play the Mustangs in a bout on Wednesday, January 19. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 7-3.

Next up, the Desert Shields play the Legacy Longhorns (North Las Vegas, NV) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 10. Cheyenne will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Longhorns go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 53-46 non-league loss to Faith Lutheran (Las Vegas, NV).
