The Spring Valley Cardinals basketball team scored 83 points and restricted the visiting Cumberland Beavers to 71 in the Cardinals non-league victory on Monday.

The Cardinals now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Elk Mound for a Dunn-St. Croix contest on Thursday, January 11. Spring Valley will battle a Mounders team coming off a 58-44 non-league win over Fall Creek (Fall Creek, WI). The Mounders record now stands at 10-1.

The Beavers (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against Hayward (Hayward, WI). The Hurricanes come into the Heart O'North contest with a 2-9 record. In their last contest, Hayward was defeated by Lakeland (Minocqua, WI), 80-66, in a non-league contest.
