South River Seahawks (Edgewater, MD) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Huntingtown Hurricanes (Huntingtown, MD), 66-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, South River upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Seahawks host North County (Glen Burnie, MD) to clash with the Knights in a Anne Arundel County bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 2-6. North County lost 72-39 in their recent league bout against Severna Park (Severna Park, MD)

Next up, the Hurricanes clash with the Leonardtown Raiders (Leonardtown, MD) in a Southern Maryland bout, on Wednesday, January 10. Huntingtown will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 58-53 league loss to McDonough (Pomfret, MD).
