Florida High School Basketball - Somerset Academy South Homestead overwhelmed by Varela

In Wednesday's non-league test, the Varela Vipers (Miami, FL) basketball squad trounced the visiting Somerset Academy South Homestead Hurricanes (Homestead, FL), by a final score of 46-22.

Next, the Vipers clash with the Coral Park Rams (Miami, FL) in a 6A District 16 test, on Friday, January 10. Varela will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Rams come into the test with a 3-6 record after their 47-29 non-league win over Sunset (Miami, FL).

The Hurricanes (1-7) will now prepare for their test against Mater Bay Academy (Cutler Bay, FL). The Rays come into the 2A District 16 test with a 3-4 record. In their last test, Mater Bay Academy bounced Colonial Christian (Homestead, FL), 31-26, in a non-league test.
