In Wednesday's non-league test, the Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) ice hockey squad tipped the host Simsbury Trojans (Simsbury, CT), by a final score of 2-1.

Next, the Sentinels face the Burrillville Broncos (Harrisville, RI) in a Division 1 test, on Friday, January 10. Smithfield will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Broncos come into the test with a 2-7 record after their 7-1 league loss to La Salle Academy (Providence, RI).

The Trojans (4-2) will now prepare for their test against East Catholic (Manchester, CT). The Eagles come into the Central Connecticut - North test with a 4-4 record. In their last test, East Catholic nudged South Windsor (South Windsor, CT), 3-2, in a league test.
