Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Tempe Buffaloes (Tempe, AZ) and the host St. Mary's Knights (Phoenix, AZ), saw Tempe's soccer squad knock off St. Mary's by a count of 2-0.

The Buffaloes (6-2) will now prepare for their battle against Combs (San Tan Valley, AZ). The Coyotes enter the non-league battle with a 9-2 record. In their last battle, Combs tipped Peoria (Peoria, AZ), 4-2, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Knights battle the Marcos de Niza Padres (Tempe, AZ) in a 4A Desert Sky battle, on Friday, January 10. St. Mary's will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Padres enter the battle with a 2-4 record after their 1-1 non-league Odyssey Institute (Buckeye, AZ).
