Michigan High School Basketball - Chavez Academy knocked off by Academy of the Americas

The Academy of the Americas basketball team scored 34 points and held the host Chavez Academy Aztec Eagles to 24 in the non-league triumph on Monday.
The now sport a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Davis Aerospace Tech for a Detroit Public II contest on Tuesday, January 10. Academy of the Americas will meet a Aviators team coming off a 45-36 league loss to Central (Detroit, MI). The Aviators record now stands at 0-4.
The Aztec Eagles (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Merritt Academy (New Haven, MI). The Mustangs enter the non-league contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Merritt Academy was outscored by Peck (Peck, MI), 72-59, in a non-league contest.
