The Wheeler Lions (North Stonington, CT) basketball felled the visiting Grasso Tech Eagles (Groton, CT), 51-36 in Monday's non-league test.
The Lions (6-3) will now prepare for their test against Westbrook (Westbrook, CT). The Knights go into the non-league test with a 0-9 record. In their last test, Westbrook was beaten by North Branford (North Branford, CT), 50-31, in a league test.
The Eagles now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Tourtellotte for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 11. Grasso Tech will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 60-41 non-league loss to Norwich RVT (Norwich, CT). The Tigers record now stands at 1-6.
