Sweetwater Wildcats (Sweetwater, TN) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Midway Green Wave (Kingston, TN), 70-33 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sweetwater upgrades its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Tellico Plains (Tellico Plains, TN) to play the Bears in a 2A District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 4-8. Tellico Plains lost 66-61 in their recent league bout against Loudon (Loudon, TN)

Next up, the Green Wave play the Wartburg Central Bulldogs (Wartburg, TN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Midway will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 2-12 record after their 63-27 league loss to Oneida (Oneida, TN).
